Our goal is to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for success in high school, college, and beyond.
Our Vision
LEMS is an internationally minded community striving to develop compassionate life-long learners through the lens of the IB learner profile.
Our Mission
At Lucile Erwin Middle School, we challenge, empower, and inspire one another to achieve our highest potential as life-long learners interacting in a global community. We care, question, learn, reflect, and act.
Academic Excellence
At Lucile Erwin Middle School, we offer a rigorous curriculum through the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), which emphasizes inquiry-based learning and global perspectives. Students engage in core subjects like math, science, language arts, and social studies, while exploring real-world issues and making interdisciplinary connections.
Key components of our IB approach include:
- Inquiry-based Learning: Encouraging curiosity through projects and investigations.
- Global Contexts: Examining themes such as sustainability and cultural diversity.
- Approaches to Learning (ATL): Developing critical skills like communication and collaboration.
- Community and Service: Promoting involvement in service learning to address local and global challenges.
Through the IB framework, our students are prepared to be global citizens, equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in an ever-changing world.
